I HATE My Kenmore Bottom Freezer Refrigerator #795.77306600

Our Kenmore bottom freezer refrigerator is the most annoying thing in our home!

Every few months ice gathers around the freezer motor. Consequently the it makes a very annoying sound caused by the fan hitting the ice around it.

About once a day for weeks we have to get down on our knees and use the hair dryer to thaw the ice.

For what we paid for it, this should not be happening. It's like having a problem teenager.

I hate it.

Leaking bottom-freezer

This POS leaks water all the time and is ruining my wooden floor. I chip ice from the bottom of my freezer every few days, use hairdryer to clear ice buildup. It is at the end of its extended warranty, of course. When I called a Kenmore technician to my new stove he scratched the floor badly. Sears and Kenmore are lousy choices.

This Rerigerator is a POS

I bought this refrigerator in Dec of 2010 and at 6 months old it started making loud noises and displayed an error code.

The upper compartment was extremely warm. I called for service since it was still under warranty and they did come out within 3 days to look at it.

The service tech determined that it was ice buildup. The problem seemed to be OK but 7 months later it is doing the same thing once again, only now it is out of warranty.

This is unacceptable for an appliance that was bought brand new just over a year ago to have these kinds of problems.

I have now lost over $400 worth of food and have no idea how long it will be before this happens again.

Sears, your products are horrible! No wonder you are going out of business! Good Riddance!

This Kenmore Refrigerator is a POS Fridge
by: Bizalls

As I sit here looking for parts for my POS Kenmore fridge, I saw the issues other people have with the same model I have.

I am sorry to say that out of the 2 comments, I read, both are the same issues I am having.

It is very sad that a large reputable company as Kenmore would build a better product.

I WILL NEVER buy a Kenmore product again.

My Kenmore Freezer Ices Up
by: Anonymous

It's NOT the ice maker. We have the same problem with our Kenmore freeze. I'm so sick of defrosting it with a hair dryer every week. The cost of having it repaired far exceeds the worth of this appliance.

We bought Kenmore because we had a Coldspot bottom freezer refrigerator from Sears that was 30 years old and still running when we moved. They sure don't make them like they use to. This one lasted about 5 minutes after the warranty expired.

I might as well have bought a less expensive refrigerator. It couldn't have been anymore of a disappointment.

These Kenmore Refrigerators are TROUBLE!!
by: Anonymous

We had the same problem several times. A tech moved the thermostat for the freezer from behind the installation and the problem was solved.

We have also had problems with the lights in the fridge. The lights are staying on too long and burning the control unit. We've had this replaced once and it's broken again.

Do some research first

FYI, there is no motor visible in the freezer. You are probably talking about the ice maker. Try turning down the temperature, this should eliminate the ice build up. Sorry to hear that your teenager is such a problem.
