Overall: The Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator GX5FHTXV has been very highly regarded by many (including Consumer Reports) as it offers a great deal of space, features and reliability at a really comfortable price. It's size will easily accommodate a family of four and still add quite a bit of style to any kitchen.

Large Storage Abilities: The extra little features added by Whirlpool are things like a full width drawer that are great for entertaining (set up your trays in advance and put them right in the fridge until the guests arrive), a special spot meant to hold up to a dozen cans of soda or beer, crispers and door bins, not to mention gallon door storage.

   
   

3. Easy to Live With Finishes: Let’s be honest here. A stainless steel refrigerator can be both a beautiful thing and a complete pain in the neck. Many of the refrigerators on the market in this category fingerprint like crazy and are really tough to clean. This model comes in both a stainless steel version and a Satina finish. The Satina is made to look like stainless but it’s much easier to keep clean, it is magnetic which stainless isn’t and best of all it tends to run a few hundred dollars less than stainless.

   
   

4. Smart and Energy Efficient:Whirlpool created something called ADS (Adaptive Defrost System) in place of its regular defrost package. It actually learns and adapts to your needs in how often it should run the defrost cycle. While this may not seem like a big deal it really is. The defrost is the part of the refrigerator that both uses the most energy and can harm your frozen food the most. Not a problem in this model.
