LG Short Circuit Recalls

1. LG Refrigerator Model LFC25776ST (2020)

This models was recalled due to a potential fire hazard in the unit. The recall was initiated after reports of a short circuit in the refrigerator’s main control board, which could cause the refrigerator to overheat and possibly result in a fire. The recall affects approximately 7,400 units of this model worldwide. Consumers should immediately disconnect their refrigerator from the power source and contact LG customer service to schedule a free repair.

2. LG Refrigerator Model LFC24770ST (2015)

In 2015, LG issued a recall for this refrigerator model due to a potential fire hazard. The recall was issued after reports of the refrigerator's plastic housing melting and catching on fire. The melting was caused by an electrical short circuit in the compressor, which was caused by the refrigerator's insulation material. The recall applied to all refrigerators with this model number manufactured between October 2014 and April 2015.




LG Wire Harness Recalls

1. LG Refrigerator Model LFC20760ST (2017)

This LG fridge was recalled due to potential fire hazard. The issue was caused by a malfunctioning wire harness that can overheat and catch fire. LG alerted consumers to the issue and provided repair kits to replace the faulty harness.




LG Fire Hazard Recalls

1. LG Refrigerator Model LFX25976ST (2014)

This LG refrigerator was recalled in 2014 due to a potential fire hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada recalled the product after discovering that it could overheat and pose a potential fire hazard. The refrigerator was sold nationwide from August 2013 through March 2014. Consumers were advised to immediately stop using the recalled refrigerators and contact LG for a free repair.

2. LG Refrigerator Model LRSC26940SB (2013)This unit was recalled in August of 2015 due to a fire hazard. The issue was caused by a faulty defrost heater. This was a safety issue, as the heater could overheat and cause a fire. The recall issued by LG and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) required that all affected consumers stop using the refrigerator and contact LG for a free repair.

3. LG Refrigerator Model LFX25960ST (2011)
The LG LFX25960ST was recalled in 2011 due to a potential fire hazard. The issue was that the refrigerator's electronic control board could overheat, posing a risk of fire. LG issued a recall to replace the defective electronic control boards in the affected refrigerators.

4. LG Refrigerator Model LDC22720ST (2010)

LG Ice Maker Recalls

1. LG Refrigerator Model LRSC26923SB (2012)
The LG LRSC26923SB was recalled in 2012 due to a defect in the ice maker that caused it to overfill with water and potentially create a fire hazard. The defect caused water to continue to flow into the ice maker even when the ice maker was turned off, resulting in too much water accumulating in the ice maker and potentially leading to a fire.
