Whirlpool Refrigerators just got bit better because the Whirlpool Corporation has been on a buying spree as of late having recently acquired the Maytag brand. This adds Maytag to an already impressive family of refrigerator manufacturers like Amana, KitchenAid, and JennAir.

Whirlpool is definitely one of the more affordable and reliable refrigerator lines. So, if you’re looking for a good but affordable freezer fridge, the Whirlpool line of products might be just what you’re looking for.

Currently the Whirlpool brand itself has sixty (60) different models in its line ranging in price from about $400 to about $2500.

Many of the Whirlpool Fridge Freezers have the Energy Star certification.

In fact, Whirlpool won this years' Energy Star Award for Sustained Excellence. Proving that they have been on the forefront of creating efficient appliances that save on water and energy while helping to reduce your family's impact on the environment.

Even though the Whirlpool Gold models are typically a bit above, the Whirlpool brand still makes high demand side by side, french door, top freezer and bottom freezer models.

One thing we found interesting about this brand is that Whirlpool believes in getting the basics right first and then adding just enough but never more than you need.

One of our favorite features available on the Whirlpool models is the Fast Fill Technology which allows the water dispenser to fill any size container twice as fast.

The Fast Fill dispenser housing can easily accommodate both large and small containers and has a rotating faucet that can direct the water to the exact spot you need it.

The filtration system of the Fast Fill models was designed to dispense water twice as fast as their previous models allowing more, pure chilled water when you need it and without the wait.

Other Unique Features from Whirlpool

Another great feature offered by Whirlpool is its unique In-Door-Ice Ice Dispensing System. This system allows you to place the ice dispenser and the ice collection bin in the freezer door instead of on the top shelf. This gives you easy access to ice and frees up valuable shelf space.

The In-Door-Ice system can make and dispense ice as quickly as most standard ice makers (in fact in our tests, even faster in many cases). This system will also feed ice to an ice and water dispenser so you don't have to open the freezer door to get ice.

One thing we loved at RefrigeratorPro.com was how they made it easy to remove the ice collection bin from the freezer and its shape makes it double perfectly as an ice bucket.There are 14 models in all that have this feature.

Lastly, one more word about the Energy Star products that Whirlpool offers. Whirlpool currently has FORTY (40) refrigerators with the Energy Star label. An unprecedented percentage compared to many of the other brands out there.
