The Kitchen Aid Refrigerator line is one of the higher quality lines available today. The KitchenAid appliance brand was actually started as a division of the restaurant appliance maker, Hobart back in 1919. The Hobart company were experts at making an industrial sized mixing machine and they were looking for a way to make and market a counter sized version of it. The KitchenAid Mixer was born. Even today, it's the most popular product in the entire Kitchenaid line.
KitchenAid was acquired by Whirlpool in 1986. Already known for it's high quality line of appliances, it was quite a coup for the Whirlpool corporation. Whirlpool now owns Maytag as well as Amana. But KitchenAid remains one of the top quality feathers in the Whirlpool cap.
KitchenAid Refrigerators are a favorite among many builders especially as an alternative to the higher priced Subzero brand. KitchenAid has a number of Side-by-Side and French Door models that can be easily integrated into just about any existing kitchen decor.
KitchenAid also makes a few specialty lines of refrigerators:
Compact Refrigerators
Counter Height Refrigerators
Wine Chillers
The quality certainly doesn't drop off either. Many of the refrigerator products they make in this realm could be considered "professional grade" (with apologies to GMC).
With a price range of $1,400.00-$7,000.00, the KitchenAid line of refrigerators are by no means cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for. Here are just a few of the features that make KitchenAid a brand to consider:
Unsurpassed Quality: Since its founding, KitchenAid has always been a mark of quality and in almost 100 years of appliance manufacturing, it still holds true.
Design In Mind: Some refrigerator manufacturers simplyh don't take into account that maybe you don't want a giant boring looking box sitting in the middle of your kitchen. It should add not only to the functionality, but to the aesthetics as well. KitchenAid is one of the few that get it and do it right with their entire Architect Series II line of refrigerators.
SatinGlide System: The SatinGlide drawer system allows produce and meat drawers to open and close with ease. It seems like a simple idea, but you'd be quite surprised how few other manufacturers take this small detail into account.
Minimizatino Temperature Swings: Many of the models in the KitchenAid line come with the Dual Magna Seal Gasket System which provides a tight, immediate seal when the door is closed. This helps to dramatically improve the overall quality of the freshness of your foods.
KitchenAid Side by Side Refrigerators: There are a number of Side by Side Refrigerators in the KitchenAid line. We've managed to review just about all of them and definitely found a few favorites.
