We just recently purchased this side by side, stainless counter depth KitchenAid fridge. While the visual design and depth helped us achieve a sleek, built in look...this is one of the worst appliances we have ever purchased.

Now having read numerous reviews of KitchenAid fridges it appears this one time "top brand" has fallen far and fast.

The primary issue with this unit, and others based on reviews, is the ice maker. It makes ice that clumps together no matter how much or little you make, no matter if you open the door or even leave it closed for a week. Clearly a major design floor for a very expensive appliance.

Customer service is non-existant from either the manufacturer or the retailer (Abt) who sold it to us. We purchased this appliance to match a kitchen remodel with other KitchenAide appliances but we are toast.

DO NOT BUY KitchenAid appliances as there seem to be numerous reviews about similar issues with other Kitchenaide fridges.
