Whirlpool Side by Side Refrigerator Reviews:Here's a List of Our Favorite Whirlpool Side by Side ModelsWe've reviewed the refrigerators below based on a number of different criteria. With the Whirlpool Side by Side refrigerators, we wanted to make sure that we took into account the number of people that might be using the fridge (we assumed a family of four) as well as the amount of food shopping that the typical user of a Side by Side Refrigerator might do in a given week. Armed with that information as our basis, we looked at available features, warranties, durability, ease of use and of course, appearance. Since we know that appearances are subjective, you can take or leave our opinions on that! The Whirlpool Fridge Freezer also known as the Whirlpool Side by Side Refrigerators have a number of great features and come in a wide variety of price ranges.
There are 28 Whirlpool Side by Side Refrigerator models. Of course, there are others in the JennAir, KitchenAid, Amana and Maytag lines that are backed by the Whirlpool brand (since they are the parent company). But if you're looking for genuine Whirlpool, these are the ones you want to consider. There are a number of great features in

- OVERVIEW: This was one of the more expensive models that we tested from Whirlpool, but we are happily surprised to say it's well worth the extra money.
- STYLE: The GC5THEXN has a streamlined, built-in look that we liked a lot. The handle has an attractive stainless steel look that is rare at this price range.
- CAPACITY: With it’s 24.5 cubic foot interior, we found there was plenty of storage space even for larger families.
- NOTABLE FEATURES: This model has the In-Door-Ice Dispensing system which saves interior space and a Designer Fit counter depth gives you back 6 inches of exterior kitchen space. It’s loaded with other features like a Door Alarm, Six Month Water Filtration System, Humidity Controlled Crisper and the Whirlpool Accu-Chill Temperature Management System.
- COLORS: It comes in Black on Black and Stainless steel, both of which we found highly appealing.
- EFFICIENCY: It’s energy star qualified.
- DIMENSIONS: Its dimensions are: DEPTH – 30 1/8in, WIDTH – 35 5/8in, HEIGHT 71 7/8in.

GS6NBEXRB 25.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator

- OVERVIEW: The GS6NBEXRB had some problems in our intial testing with keeping a constant temperature. The doors in particular seemed suceptible to excess moisture build up as well as poor temp control. Needless to say, it almost didn't make our list. However, when we tested a second unit, it passed with flying colors. So, that tells us that consistency for this product might be something to look out for.
- STYLE: This Whirlpool Side by Side refrigerator has a simplified look that appealed to our test group. We find that this refrigerator can fit in any number of kitchen styles.
- CAPACITY: It has a 25.6 cubic foot interior which was more than enough room for most four person families and has an excellent use of space.
- NOTABLE FEATURES: Most of the features worked well such as the Child Lockout, EZ Touch Crushed/Cubed Ice Dispenser, PuR Filtration System, Humidity Controlled Crisper, SpillGuard Glass Shelves, Adjustable Taller Clear Gallon Door Bins and the Whirlpool Accu-Chill Temperature Management System. The ice maker water supply tube froze up on us in our first test, but we might have had a lemon because the second performed beautifully.
- COLORS: It comes in Black on Black, White on White, Satina (Stainless look), Biscuit on Biscuit and Stainless steel. Both of the models we tested were black on black and we didn't care for the way the Satina looked on this particular unit.
- EFFICIENCY: It’s energy star qualified.
- DIMENSIONS: Its dimensions are: DEPTH – 33 3/4in, WIDTH – 35 3/4in, HEIGHT 69 3/4in.

ED2GHEXNL 21.8 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator

- OVERVIEW: The ED2GHEXNL has a classic design that isn't overwhelming, but if you're looking for a solid side-by-side refrigerator that will perform flawlessly for years to come, this is one model you might want to consider.
- STYLE: The style of this side by side refrigerator is simple and classic. If you're looking for a more modern look, this may not be the best choice.
- CAPACITY: It only has a 21.8 cubic foot interior which almost disqualified it in this category, but it's designed well and will meet the capacity needs of a family of four. The freezer is a little tight, but still ample.
- NOTABLE FEATURES: For this price range, it's nice to have the exterior water and ice dispenser as they make the entire unit feel like a much greater overall value. The EZ touch water and ice dispenser are a nice addition especially in this price range.
- COLORS: It comes in Black on Black, White on White, Satina (Stainless look), and Biscuit on Biscuit. For a fridge in this price range, they usually aren't available in stainless steel models. But for most families, we don't recommend the stainless. Why spend 25% more and have the hassle of having to clean it every five minutes? Consider the satina -- it's easier to clean and about $200.00 cheaper on average. For this partcular model, we loved the black on black and Satina.

Gold Series GD5NVAXSA 25.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator

- OVERVIEW: The GD5NVAXSA is part of the Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator line. As far as quality goes, the GD5NVAXSA is at the top. It's a bit pricier than similar models in the Whirlpool line, but we've found that most of the refrigerators in the Whirlpool Gold line are worth the extra money.
- STYLE: This Whirlpool side by side refrigerator is loaded with looks. It's definitely one of the sleekest overall of all the Whirlpool side by side models.
- CAPACITY: It has a 25.6 cubic foot interior which was more than enough room for most four and even five person families. The space is well configured and ample.
- NOTABLE FEATURES: We loved a number of the features on this fridge such as the Fast Fill water filtration system which allows you to fill large pitchers rather quickly and the in-door Air Cooling system.
- COLORS: This unit comes in Black on Black, White on White, Satina (Stainless look), Biscuit on Biscuit and Stainless steel (which was the model we tested). The stainless (like most stainless) tended to be suceptible to finerprints, so it often looked dirty. The Black on Black might be perfect if you have small children who leave their fingerprints everywhere.

- OVERVIEW: For what you get for your money, we were quite surprised with this little model. It gives you all the benefits of the higher end Whirlpool side by side refrigerator models at well under $1,800.00
- CAPACITY: It has a 21.8 cubic foot interior which is a bit tight, but because the interior is so well designed, we really didn't miss the extra space. The 7.4. cu. ft. freezer was snug, but unless you've got large freezer items you may not notice the loss of space.
- NOTABLE FEATURES: It comes with the In-Door-Ice ice and water dispensing system which allows you to move the ice bin to the door. It has numerous other features such as Child Lockout, EZ Touch Crushed/Cubed Ice Dispenser, PuR Filtration System, Humidity Controlled Crisper, SpillGuard Glass Shelves, Adjustable Taller Clear Gallon Door Bins and the Whirlpool Accu-Chill Temperature Management System.
- COLORS: It comes in Black on Black, White on White, Satina (Stainless look), Biscuit on Biscuit and Stainless steel (which was the model we tested). The Satina we found to be the best value at $200 less than the Stainless Steel model, but the black on black was most attractive.
- EFFICIENCY: It’s energy star qualified.
- DIMENSIONS: Its dimensions are: DEPTH – 33 3/4in, WIDTH – 32 3/4in, HEIGHT 66 3/4in.
