LG French Door Refrigerators

Here are the LG French Door Refrigerator Models we Recommend!

The LG French Door Refrigerators have quickly become some of the most popular french door refrigerators on the market. Not only due to their high quality and low price, but also, because LG Refrigerators have proven to be some of the most innovative products available.

The LG French Door Refrigerators are some of the most popular across the board for a number of reasons. LG is a first with innovation such as the addition of the 15" LCD TV Screen in the right side door of some of their Side by Side Refrigerator models as well as the constant rethinking of the typical fridge. They're always asking the question, how can we make this unit just a bit better.

In answering that question, they came up with the first French Door Refrigerator with an external ice/water dispenser.

The LG French Door Refrigerators have quickly started to dominate the landscape. They have even managed to eclipse sales of the major American companies like GE and Whirlpool. A South Korean company, LG has been making quality products since the 50's. You might remember the original name, Goldstar.

LG French Door Refrigerators Advantages

LG French Door Refrigerators have three unique characteristics that truly set them apart:

  1. Better Efficiency: The LG Refrigerators typically have better quality compressors, insulation and door gaskets which often lead to lower energy bills.

  2. Better Capacity: The LG Refrigerators typically have better storage capacity than many others comparitive models. Much of this is due to the better lighting, filtration and dispenser systems which in the LG's take up much less room than in other similarly priced side by side refrigerators.

  3. Runs Quiet: The LG Refrigerators tend to run anywhere from 10-15% quieter than most other major brands. Partly due to the better internal equipment, and partly due to a commitment to make a solid running machine.

LG French Door Refrigerator Models we Recommend

There are a number of French Door Refrigerator models in the LG Refrigerator line, so we've helped to narrow down the field somewhat by choosing only those refrigerators that scored high marks in our own internal testing as well as high marks with other consumers from across the web.

1.) LG LFC21760:

20.7 Cu. Ft. Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator Stainless Steel Finish

OVERALL: The LG LFC21760 French Door refrigerator is one of the more popular models on the market. Mainly because of what you get for your money.

PROS

  • The Stainless Steel Premium Finish with Matching Handles and Contour Doors with Hidden Hinges comes standard for this model.

  • The 4 Slide-Out, Spill-Protector Tempered Glass Shelves Door Baskets: 5 Adjustable Clear gallon size and Dairy Corner Wine Rack give you ample storage capacity.

  • The Multi-Air Flow Cooling greatly aids efficiency and the Internal LED Touch Pad Digital Temperature Controls allow for easy management.

  • It has a built in alarm that will start to beep in case you accidentally leave the doors open and is Energy Star Rated. This not only saves you on your energy bill but also enbles you to receive an Energy Star Rebate.

  • If you're wondering about the ease of cleaning, the shelves are easy to adjust, remove and clean.

CONS

  • Only the front is stainless, the sides are black which is only an issue if the sides are exposed.

  • The steel on the doors tends to be thin so be careful not to bump the doors on surrounding furniture as it tends to dent.

  • The lower freezer is not more than a big tub that pulls out to reveal a shallow rack to only hold ice and a few more things.

MSRP: $2349.00

2.) LG LFX25960ST:

24.7 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator with Water/Ice Dispenser - Stainless Steel Finish

OVERALL:Unlike many of the other brands out there, LG doesn't skimp on the appearance of this fridge using Premium Finishes with metal handles instead of the plastic ones you'll find on many similarly priced models.

PROS:

  • The self-contained Ice System and Tilt-A-Drawer™ Bottom Freezer which gives this 24.7 cu. ft. fridge a huge advantage over the competition.

  • The 4 Slide-Out, Spill-Protector Tempered Glass Shelves 4 Door Baskets (3 Clear gallon size, 1 small) and Wine Rack utilize this amazingly well designed interior to its full potential.

  • Additionally, features like the IcePlus™ Accelerated Freezing Function and LoDecibel™ Quiet Operation are just more reasons why this LG French Door Refrigerator is one to consider.

CONS:

The one thing we heard over and over again had to due with the ice dispenser not holding a full size cup and was poorly designed.

MSRP: $2359.00

3. LG LFX21960ST:

20.5 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator with Exterior Water & Ice Dispenser - Stainless Steel Finish

OVERALL:The LG LFX21960ST has only 20.5 Cu. Ft. of capacity, but thankfully, due to the intelligent interior design of the LG Refrigerators, it feels much larger than it is.

PROS:

  • Due to the Self-Contained Ice System and Tilt-A-Drawer™ Bottom Freezer, you can really make the most out of the storage space.

  • The 24" Cabinet Depth gives it that "built in" quality without the built in price tag.

  • The Multi-Air Flow Cooling provides a consistent temperature throughout the fridge and the SmoothTouch Digital Temperature Controls allows you to easily adjust the temperate zones.

  • The IcePlus™ Accelerated Freezing Function is a nice addition for a unit so well priced.

CONS
  • The doors can be a bit harder to open than most though typically that means a really good seal.

  • We have seen that this fridge can be a bit problem prone. Specifically that the ice maker may fail often.

MSRP: $3199.00
