LG Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

by Karen H.
(Hythe, AB, Canada)

I have had my LG bottom Freezer Fridge for approximately 5 years. I had expected it to last a lot longer considering the amount of money we paid for it. It was seen as one of the top of the line models at the time.

Then one morning I woke up and my floor was covered with gunk from everything in my fridge unthawing and caused a huge mess. I called every service repair person in my area and I was told that no one will touch an LG fridge, because they are very sticky about warranty.

I told them there was no warranty to worry about and they said you are better off getting a new fridge, because it sounds like it's beyond repair. All this from a phone call?

Anyway I have learned my lesson, and will go back to the brand names that I am familiar with and stay there. Never getting an LG appliance again. The last fridge I had was GE and I sold it after 10 years and it was still running perfectly and I paid way less than the LG.

GE here I come!!

LG Refridgerator Doors Not Closing
by: IR

I bought LG refridgerator (model LFX25971) 3 years ago.

Three months later the ice maker needed repair and now the french doors not closing like they should.

I called a repair man and he said he cannot fix it. He called LG for me and they said to put cooking oil (any variety) on the black rubber between the doors. I am wary of doing this and I am researching other options.

I was lucky that I bought a 5 year warranty so I would not have pay out of pocket expenses. I am wary of buying another refridgerator but I hope this can last another few years.

Whatever happened to appliances lasting 20 years? How is that now the good ol' days?

LG SUCKS!!
by: KEVIN KEANE

Yes, LG refrigerators suck!!

After two years all of the plastic inserts holding the drawers broke. I tried to find replacements but have had not luck. Now after 4 years the lower board and cord shorted out.

The repairman I finally found to repair the unit said that this is a very common problem for LG refrigerators and that there should really be a recall.

I paid over $2500 for this junk and I will probably end up paying for it until I can afford to buy a new one.

I suggest staying far away from any and all LG appliances.

LG is NOT a Reliable Refrigerator
by: Anonymous

We paid 3K for the LG french door with bottom refrigerator model 3 years ago.

One month out of warranty the freezer needed repair for a cracked plastic component? The following year the freezer required repair again in the main circuit board?

Today I woke to all the contents of the refrigerator frozen solid. Of course LG just refers you to a service center.

Make sure you buy an extended warranty if you get an LG because you will need it.

We are never buying another LG product of any kind again!
