GE Profile French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerators

by Sue
(Philadelphia, PA)

This GE Profile French door refrigerator was purchase 3-4 years ago and are having the following problems:

  • The right hand door insulation keeps the left side door from closing unless it is open first.

  • Ice maker and water in the door has never worked.

  • The electronics board broke two months ago.

  • The compressor broke this week.

We were advised this was a product with a horrible reputation due to bottom freezer issues causing compressor failures and the electronics boards needing frequent replacements.

Our repair person who had no affiliation with a store advised us to toss the GE unit and purchase a Whirlpool top freezer or side by side for nearly the same price as replacing the current fridge's compressor.

The exact model number is PFS22MIS or PFS22SIS that cost us over $1100 at Sears.
