Problems with my 10 year old refrigerator

My refrigerator is 10 years old and it doesn't seem to be working as well as it used to be.

Sometimes it is warm to the touch but only on the right side of the refrigerator.

Also from time to time I smell an odor from the outside of it.

This refrigerator is about 10 years old and without ice maker, it is more or less a simple construction. Up until now we have never had any problems with it.

I am also worried that the temperature inside is not as low now as it was before, with placing it at it's maximum cool setting.

Any help figuring out what is wrong would be greatly appreciated because buying a new refrigerator really isn't a current possiblity.
