Our 4 Year Old Maytag Side by Side Refrigerator (model# MSD2641KEW) is a Nightmare!!

We have (had) our Maytag side by side refrigerator freezer for 4 years, purchased in 2007, and for the first 3 years we loved it, but into the 4th year it became a nightmare!

The icemaker quit first then it started making horrible sounds with cooling problems. I assume that was the compressor that was going out because it is finally DOA.

I thought with the name Maytag I would have many years of great service out of this refrigerator? "NOT" we have rentals with other brands that are taking a licking and are working just fine, the best we thought we were getting for our own home turned into a top dollar dud.

We are now researching other brands other than Maytag for a replacement. FYI my car battery is lasting longer than the Maytag and I purchased it two years before the refrigerator!(RIP)

All we can say is don't buy Maytag appliances!!
