No more GE appliances for me!!

I purchased my GE Profile Side by Side refrigerator new. After 4 years the evaporator fan in the freezer began to make noise like it was hitting something. Apparently it was icing up which indicated it needed a new computer board.

I found a replacement computer board from a local tech for $50. After the sale the tech admitted he made a mistake in the price but was willing to stand by his first price. I should have paid more like $125.

I put the board in myself and everything was great until 6 months later the freezer and fridge started warming up.

Now I need a new compressor to the tune of $500. I refuse to put a $500 compressor into a machine I paid $1000 for.

In my opinion, putting a computer board into a kitchen appliance is ridiculous. I just want cold milk, eggs etc, and a freezer that freezes. Bell and whistles, no thanks!
