Maytag French Door Bottom Freezer (model MFD2560HES)

We love the features of our Maytag French door bottom freezer refrigerator and freezer and the stainless steel exterior.

There's loads of space for large items. Purchased in 2004. Reliability is questionable. We live in a rural area. We purchased repair service through Sears. Thank heavens.

1. We have had the ice maker replaced once.
   
   
2. The deli drawer cover replaced due to a broken plastic hinge.
   
   
3. Lastly, we are awaiting replacement of our second compressor.

Too bad the quality of the system doesn't match the features.

We previously bought a used Amana frige with our home. We lived there 30 years. We sold it with the house and never had anything go wrong. What happened with quality engineering?

I think the only thing engineered now is wanting you to buy new refrigerator every few years.
