Magic Chef Stainless Steel Top Freezer Fridge (model CTB1826ARU)

I bought a new Magic Chef stainless steel top freezer fridge in 2006. All was fine until the defrost heater burnt out about 2010. I had been defrosting it manually for a year.

Tried to get a part but the parts are no longer available or discontinued. Called Magic Chef Head Office which was useless because all they said was that they couldn't help.

Then I called the retailer where I purchased it and they no longer carry Magic Chef appliances.

BEST OF ALL, I got a letter in the mail from Extended Service Plans in Toronto to buy an extended warranty. Yeah right.

I will not buy another Magic Chef appliance again.

As for the defrost heater, with a bit of research, we got the fridge defrost heater repaired by ourselves.
