LG, Side-by-Side Refrigerator (Model #LSC21943ST)

I have had my LG side by side refrigerator for barely 4 years.

When it was barely 2 months old, two of the drawers in the freezer cracked.

The stainless steel finish is almost impossible to clean. (I have to scrub very hard to clean it every day and it streaks and shows every fingerprint when you touch the doors.)

That, however, is not the worst of it.

A bearing in the compressor went(remember it's only 4 years old),which has a 7 year warranty, but it forced oil into the lines which made the fridge unrepairable.

My repairman (not from LG) spent about 7 hours trying to bleed oil out of the lines and then said it was impossible as the damage was too extensive.

Imagine not even being able to repair a 4 year old $2000 refrigerator.

LG would not replace my unrepairable refrigerator which was damaged by a warrantied part.

They gave us a buyback of less than half the cost to replace this unit after months of arguing with them.

My Best Advice to Anyone Reading This: Never buy an LG product, because if you have a problem with it, you will be sorry. The words Customer Satisfaction mean nothing to them.

I've read several similar reviews to mine all over the net.

Check them all out before buying LG. Buyer Beware!!

Beware the LG!
by: Hal

I just replaced my $1500 LG side by side which was less than 4 years old. It had failed 10 months ago and cost $450 to fix, then had failed again. My local appliance repair shop will not even work on them. They say that there are only two places in the USA where parts are stocked and none near here in the NW. Last time it took 3 weeks to get the part. There is a circuit board up on top of the cabinet that contains multiple components and is only replaceable as a unit at a cost of over $300.
I replaced mine with a Maytag that isn't loaded with fragile electronic whistles and bells. Love it!
