LG Side by Side Refrigerator is a Piece of Junk and the LG Customer Service Stinks!


All I can say is don't buy LG Appliances or you will be sorry if something goes wrong because their customer service won't fix it even if it is still under warranty.

LG does not stand behind their products.

I had problems with my freezer door on my LG stainless steel side by side. They sent out a very unprofessional service man tried to replace the door with a new door that didn't match.

When I refused the new door an LG supervisor (Shelton was his name) rudely told me that this was my only option.

LG appliances are usually a little less expensive than other major brands and as I found out, there is a reason for it.

LG Fridges are garbage NEW

I have had a service person out more on this one fridge than all my other fridges owned in 40 years. Defrost control board failed, compressor failed, now the ice/water dispenser switch stuck on. All in the first 3 years of it's life.

Don't even think about buying one.

What LG really is NEW

If you all have been around as long as I have no 61 years old. My mother used Lucky brand products laundry detergent and such. There was another company called Gold Star that flooded the market with cheap electronics that were throw away. in the 80's the company revamped and today they are known as LG or Lucky Goldstar that's correct it doesn't stand for Lifes'Good as they would have you believe.

fridge service junk! NEW

my side side fridge quit 11months compressor under 10year warrenty,but no one wants to work on it 6weeks out tech from a&e came out ordered parts suppose service unit don't have all the parts another 12days,,,lg said they'd replace unit after 3-5days that was over a month ago,i've got over8 hours on the phone now @ 2-3hours each call,hold for 45 min,really sad!$8.3billion company andcannot fix a leak!

LG fridge is 10 months old and has quit twice. Customer service is non existent. Repairman is nice but has no idea how to fix it properly. No more Lg for me in the future.

Bought a side by side 7 yrs. ago , it formed a big Crack inside of freezer wall , the ice maker leaks water and clumps up when ice maker is on , and the plastic draws broke .

I have a LG bottom freezer fridge and the inside shelving has broken. Each time I go to fix these parts they cost over $150.

LG doesn't stand behind this junk! Here's a few of the problems I'm having right now:

  1. Right now the freezer door handle is broken = another $100.

  2. The meat drawer is broken .

  3. The frame for the bottom drawer is broken.


All of these parts put altogether cost almost $400!! That is insane for a 5 year old unit and best of all it is the second time to have replaced most of these parts.

I totally agree. LG's customer service is the worst.

I found most repair companies hate working on any of LG's products. To get an actual LG repairman is nearly impossible. Unfortunately, we have 2 LG products.

The refrigerator has been OK until the ice dispenser funnel broke. LG doesn't supply their own parts, so they refer you to an independent supplier.

Well this funnel will not be an easy fix. LG decided to re-design the mounting bracket and no longer supply the old funnel! I?ll probably need a repairman, since this ?minor? failure is not covered by my extended warranty.

I won?t get into the dishwasher, but let me tell you my next appliance will be a Kenmore! Good or bad, they support their products.

My refrigerator broke while under warranty 14 months ago and remains broke today.
Home Depot shouldn't sell this cheap GoldStar junk labeled as LG.

Wow it sounds like you've been through a nightmare with your LG side by side refrigerator and the LG customer service.

I'm sorry to say that this isn't the first complaint we've heard about an LG refrigerator having problems and being difficult to fix.
