GE Side by Side Refrigerator - Chilled Water Coming Out Warm

by Jim
(Surrey B.C.)

I bought a GE side by side refrigerator with a water dispenser from Home Depot

One of my biggest complaints is that the "so called" chilled water comes out in the high 40°F. I called GE and they told me that 40 degrees is what they consider chilled. HUH?

Having been a plumber for over 40 years I can tell you that high 40°F is not chilled water. Knowing all that I do about plumbing, in refrigerators or out, I knew that this is not right.

I informed them that they have a design problem the water line is too close to the compressor which is causing the water to heat up. In the end they want nothing to do with it
