GE Refrigerator model #GSH22JFTACC Serial #HL206291 - Freezer Stopped Working

This is the second time that the freezer in our GE refrigerator stopped working for reasons unknown.


The first time it happened, we emptied everything from the freezer and refrigerator sides, reset the two controls on "5," and it started working again. This only lasted for a few months.

Now the freezer has quit again. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is and how to fix it?

My GE fridge freezes up in the back of the frost free freezer. U can see the ice - then it stops cooling in the fridge section BUT freezes onions and potatoes in the bottom drawer. THEN the freezer stops tooooo. Much remove every thing and thaw it out . Works for a few months and then starts all over again. I hate this machine. I am now looking at all the postings and comments about the other brands that people have had trouble with - lord - what will I buy that will perform as should and last . We used to have a Montgomery Ward / you know the green set - lasted for over 20 years .
