This GE side-by-side refrigerator is a piece of crap!


The pipes freeze, and the side of the fridge ices. The copper pipe freezes and then defrosts, leaving a flood at the bottom of the fridge.

The repairmen replaced the motherboard and thermostat even though they are in working order.

They replaced them since they had no idea how to fix this over $2000 piece of junk. GE will replace it if I pay $1000.

Never again will I by GE.

They will not admit a flaw in the fridge even though the repairmen told me that the way it was built was incorrect, and the newer model fixed the defect.

So basically, I am screwed.

My GE side by side was bad all the way from the start.
I have owned it seven years. The stupid thing won't keep anything cold.
The freezer ices over and then notheing stays cold.
I have replaced orignal parts with;

2- freezer heaters
2- themistors
2- thermistats
2- mother boards
It is on it's third piece of everything that makes it cold and it is still frosting over.
I will never, never, never buy another GE appliance as long as I live.
I am in sales and know hundreds and hundreds of people and I will be on a daily anti GE rant for the rest of my life.
Life is too short to let a refrigerator/freezer make you bitter. On the other hand companies who sell crap and don't warranty it, need to go out of business forever.

Just replaced our 8 month old made in Mexico GE refrigerator with a Samsung fridge.

My 77 year old mother literally had a stroke while on the phone with GE, after multiple service calls and the side by side is still not working.

G.E. I hope you rot in Hell !!!!!!!
