GE French Door Refrigerator Model DFE29JSD

I have had the refrigerator for ten months, and it just started making a loud, high-pitched noise that can be heard throughout a 4000 sq ft house.


The reviews I read before I purchased it said this fridge was noisy, but this is unreasonable. It does make a lot of other noises occasionally, but they can only be heard if you are next to the fridge in the kitchen. We like everything else about this fridge.

This new loud noise is not constant, but it happens randomly several times a day and lasts 10-15 minutes.

 Not a normal noise...

Hey There,

So the high pitched sound you're hearing is not a normal sound for this refrigerator. It sounds like there is some issue with the compressor pressurization.

I would highly recommend you utilize your warranty and have a GE repairman (or woman) try to resolve this issue.

If not, you run the risk of the problem worsening over time.
